It is now Day 6, and Phae, Lyreth, Sir Eric, and Calro venture out in to the ruins. They return at dusk. All other guilders that have not ventured out begins their day at dawn with 10 hours until the gates of Gartanu closes.
It is now day 5 and Quolp, Phae, Calro, and Gilbert Frederickson has ventured out of Gartanu. They return at dusk. All other guilders who did not venture out begin their day at dawn and have ten hours until dusk to explore.
This upcoming Sunday(13th) is going to be too full for us. Too much homework due, and family stuff planned over the weekend. We’ll guarantee game on Friday, the 18th. Let us know ahead of time if anyone plans to show up, we have four guaranteed showing.
For tabletop game sessions, I keep xp rewards abstract and even for all involved. After more than a few requests I’ll start rewarding some xp online, and I’ll keep it simple. If your character faces a great challenge, there will be an xp reward, the amount being equivalent to the risk taken. No risk=no xp reward.
I often lay out choices that I think are most interesting in online play, some are obviously safe, others not so much. Pursuing your own choice, especially one that adds elements of the dramatic or really challenges the player character will always have result in a little extra xp in addition to the risk involved.
@vzoit: Not sure about the next game just yet. Talking to kauainokaoi(aka the wife) right now, looks like either this upcoming Sunday the 13th, or Friday, the 18th is good for our family. I’ll plan for Sunday and if no one can show, then Friday it is.
Hey guys, I’m free to DM from Thursday May 27th, for a week. The family is visiting relatives in the mainland so I’d like to run at least a few games before they get back. I’ll post up guaranteed set dates the closer we get. Most likely sticking to Fridays, but also Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursdays are good for me.
Hey guys, sorry I haven’t commented lately, busy with work and my wife’s has a lot of homework due(end of semester). We ordered a new desktop which is coming in two weeks so I will be able to post more then.
Game is still on for Friday May 7th @530pm. I think we’ll just assume it’s the next day following the last session since there was little activity going on in between.
@Ryan: go ahead and add your crafting check earnings to your stash, great write up by the way!
@Jon: Solid. I’ve been drawing out floorplans for each of the monolithic structures, the bridge, and the ruins below. I think clear maps will be key to pulling off the shared setting campaign. Give me until next Saturday and I’ll have a stack of maps ready for you to check out.
@Nick: That’s awesome dude! Yeah, the games real full right now and I have more friends that live on the island who want to game as well. I’m currently working on some maps and a dungeon master wiki to make collaborating with multiple dungeon masters easier. Once we have more dms we’ll be able to take on more players.
I have Vent too, so let me know what’s up if we’re going to try that. I like vent.
chuckles Some of my friends are jealous that I am playing DnD. I’m not giving invites out and I let them know that the game is full, but if I’m pressed, should I help them roll up a character and join in?
Ah! ventrillo could totally work. I’ve been trying to find the price for elluminate, but it requires contacting them. not a good sign for my wallet hahaha.
@Nick and Jon: I find out my schedule for next week this upcoming Tuesday and will post times that I’m free to run an online session for you two(and Amy if she wants to play).
skype worked really well for adding Nick to the game. I’m thinking about running short weekly(maybe bi-weekly) skype sessions.
My wife was telling me about another program http://www.elluminate.com/ that she uses for her college classes. The downside is that it costs money, the upsides is that only the moderator needs to buy the program, everyone else just follows a link.
The program is designed for a class room and runs well with dozens of people chatting via microphone and text. Also supports webcams, multiple rooms, and comes with a community whiteboard to write on(works like ms paint). No idea on costs but I’ve got a 30day trial. If anyone wants to check it out private message me your email address!
I recommend that people transfer their characters from the old campaign over to Mike as NPC’s so as to have a proper list of the current participants in the campaign. You should, of course, save the data first for your own records.
It’s got little d20’s next to all the stats that you’d be making checks for, like skills and attacks and it includes all the mods in the results. I’m thinking of writing a more advanced dice roller that includes an animated die or something….
That is pretty damn awesome Jon! I’ll add the link to the wiki sometime soon, need to take care of some chores and cruise with the family. What does the dice roller char sheet do?
Btw, I was bored… http://irthos.100webspace.net/
If you want a pretty javascript dice rolling character sheet too, let me know. I’m building the character sheets with PCGen and a custom export template.
Just a general note for the group. I once again lost my phone(this is why I always have go phones) so the best way to get in contact with me is by sending me a message on this site.
Ancient Irthos: Upon the Ruins of Entioc Comments

ALSO: when is the next game? And I’m thinking the online RPing is worth some tableside XPing…?
@kaeosdad: Zip is fleshing out nicely. I’m happy with him as a character; now I need to make up my second choice. So many options!
@vzoit: nice! I’m digging zip’s background
Huge update added today. Check it out!
XP log updated. Session 4 adventurers gain 950xp each! One new player joined the campaign Tomek, half-orc paladin.
Two more players added to the group. Deed and Frederick!
My first account still refused to make up its mind whether it existed or not so here I am. Erik Smash. Rawr.

re-working the known world entry, putting up a world map sometime this week instead

I’ve been working on my photoshop skills lately, so if you need some help with making the maps real nice, just let me know.

@Logan: Nice, we finally got another background up! I have a feeling that Lyreth will get his chance to face the undead again real soon.
Gotta get Skyler and Charles on here to put their characters up as well.

Another option: I’ve got access to a ventrillo server I think we’d be welcome to use. It’s got a strong reputation for reliability.
