When rolling up your character’s background on the origins tables your character may gain some extra starting gold along the way. This is in addition to your character’s normal starting wealth which is based on the class you choose.
Not all equipment and services are available wherever you go, but for new characters feel free to spend your gold on equipment, weapons, armor, adventuring gear, goods and services found in the Pathfinder rulebook.
For reference here is a list of everything you can buy in the game.
